Gmund Roadster, 1948
The first Porsche sportscar was certified for public roads in 1948. It was assembled in a saw-mill in Gmünd, a town in Austria (hence the name). The roadster had a four-cylinder engine from a beetle, but unlike in the beatle it was placed upfront and not in the back.
